CLE CHAR HARRIS – Fortitude
2 min readToday I have the great opportunity of previewing an upcoming release from CLE CHAR HARRIS!
for those of you familiar with Cle Char Harris, she is an amazing instrumentalist, I don’t want to say knowone because she makes more than just your typical rap beats that are so closely related to the term Producer. Cle brings the Caribean into her music via horns and up-tempo drums that instantly get your feet moving. Although I only get to indulge in 40 seconds or so of Fortitude I can already tell that it’s a song that will make you instantly jump up at hit the dance floor. This instrumental has a smooth salsa flavor that has an eerie gatsby style 1920’s vibe that I can picture old gangsters, or military men or women on leave dancing and drinking too. the classic images of men dipping the women, and spinning in their long dresses. This instrumental brings happiness when I listen, it gives me a sense of freedom because to me that was dancing is, it’s freedom, it’s a closed door when no one is watching, its an open room with everyone happy, it’s a moment to reflect and listen, Fortitude is courage and that’s the feeling this instrument gives off.
When I look at the artwork that was made for this release I began to realize this is another release that is either in memory or in honor of Cle Char Harris’s mother. A beautiful lady standing in front of a 50’s model truck dressed in a military outfit. giving off a vibe of Fortitude. a smile, honor, and being proud, exactly what Cle Char Harris should be for this upcoming release. Proud.
