BADiSUN – Out of Luck

Today I am reviewing BADiSUN new song “Out of luck”
I was very interested in hearing this song when it was sent to me based on the outline of the project that was supplied calling this a “genreless” style of song. I was anticipating something that I have not heard before, some futuristic, new-age blend of genres that have created something unique. As soon as I hit play I got hit with something that almost took me back in time, I felt a small wave of some Offspring, Blink 182, that 90s pop punk sound but not over that style beat, moreover a new age pop trap beat.  I did in fact like all those groups growing up and it was kind of nostalgic to hear something vocally that had hints of those guys’ sound in this song. The chorus is repetitive, which I feel can be a good thing at times as it makes it easy to learn and sing along with. as the song continues I think it loses that vibe and moves more into a Travi McCoy sound with a more rappish sounding verse instead of the slight singing verse. I’m not sure this song is a new genre breakthrough as much as it is just a pop song with a couple of styles blended into it to impress new ears and bring memories back to old ones. The production is pretty decent, I like the beat and it’s an easy little head-nodder song, vocal mixing is pretty spot on, maybe a tad bit low but I think overall it’s a pretty replayable track.  The best part of this song is the blending of styles and not allowing one specific sound to lock you down into one realm. Very good. I also listened to “Roses”  I liked that song a lot.
