Dead Cat Bounce – Tension and Release

Today I am listening to Dead Cat Bounce, the song is called Tension and release.
From what I’m gathering this is a instrumental album with no vocals, just straight beat and instruments. The first thing Id like to say is the beat has some a awesome vibe. It’s not your typical hip hop beat that I was expecting from most producers, although I feel like I could rap to this , I don’t believe its a hip hop beat at all. The instrumental has a super up tempo fun and funky symphony vibe to it that makes you imagen a full orchestra all playing perfectly in sync in a non traditional format. My favorite part of this beat is easily the drums, they actually sound like live drums, and for all I know they may be, I’m so used to normal boom bap style hip hop drums that sometimes I forget the amazing skill and presence of high energy drums without 808s drowning everything out has in a song.
The drums alone give me a vibe of the huge parties they have in New Orleans, Louisiana here in America where everyone is happy and partying. this beat really gives you that feeling of fun and excitement. The beat features several break downs that makes it stand apart from you normal put together beat that is often a Intro, chorus, verse, chorus, verse and outro. I feel like this beat has no exact formula when it comes to a specific lay out, the producer is just a mad man who has created this piece of art that frantically makes you submerse into the thrilling ride of epicenes. The very start of this beat as I go back and listen for the third or fourth times reminds me of the start of a great action movie, like a 007 or mission impossible, its a really great start that draws you completely in to the creators vision, I can picture a movie scene to this for sure. I really like this beat although it gets a little crazy at times and a tad busy for any lyrics to be on it, I dont think the intention is for lyrics to grace this magnificent piece of work.. very dope
