Syndicate Same Ol’ – “Sicka Me”

So today I have the pleasure in reviewing syndicate Same Ol’.
The song that was sent in is called “Sicka me” and I’m really interested to hear the content of this song to see why people are sick of him. Lets hope its because he is extremely dope and putting other emcees to shame .

So as I hit play, I notice what sounds like some auto tune and I’m secretly hoping its not a full on auto tune song, it’s just not my cup of tea. Thankfully it goes into a real hip hop song with little to no Auto tune.
To be fully honest I really like the auto tune in the back ground of the hook. I can hear several layers where Syndicate Same Ol’ used layers to manipulate his voice to make it sound fuller. this tells me this guy is a vet in the studio or has done a lot of studying.
The hook is pretty repetitive, but they say in this rap game, that repetitive words in songs are what makes the listener remember the song and it makes it catchy. I really love the I KNOW I KNOW , its slightly sung, and sounds really good.

The first verse drops in and Syndicate Same Ol’ has a smooth Old school flow where he rhymes multiple words in a rhyme scheme that seems to lack in hip hop. Same Ol’ has a nice voice and offers a unique delivery that has the perfect amount of energy . This verse is pretty fun, it’s slightly bragging about putting in work and being the best. “we are the greatest, y’all are just decent” This isn’t a battle song, but it could very well be directed at someone haha…

Verse two comes in with the same energy and the same rhyme pattern which makes the song flow very well. Syndicate seems to follow a strict rhyme pattern that almost makes his flow predictable, I’m not sure it’s a bad thing, but I would like to hear a little bit of change up in the flow . I absolutely love where he said “If it aint paying , I’m not listening” Time is money , and Syndicate is skilled enough to take what he is worth…

Am I sick of this song? Absolutely not. Syndicate Same ol officers a great quality for the listener and seems to be “older and wiser and different” than every other rapper these days who sound a lot of like. Syndicate is bringing originality and fun topics that didn’t involve selling drugs or killing anyone…
