William Matthew Kelly – Let It Rain

Spread the love

I was excited to wake up and find out WMK requested I review a few more of his songs.. The first one is quite interesting, “Let it rain” is about the songwriters pilgrimage back to Christ after being disconnected for so long. The thing that makes this song interesting for me is because, unknowing to the song writer, I my self am a non believer. Some will instantly think I would hate this song, but that is entirely not the case… I personally am proud of people who find a religion or a god and can use that to better them selves, that is phenomenal. This song for me is beautifully written, a slow soft ballad that expresses the emotion of trust and faith perfectly. The Chorus talks about “let it rain” “let the light shine down” “Jordan Shores” for those who are un aware Jordan Shores is where Jesus was baptized. for me this song is a form of baptism. This song is almost a admission to what the songwriter wanted the whole time but did not have and once he found the Jordan Shores, which is the words to this song, he was regenerated and introduced him self back into the house of god. The words to this song also remind me that even as a non believer it’s always good to be compassionate and open to others beliefs and thoughts. when someone is hurting or in a dark time and they have no one to talk to sometime a god is the only one who will listen, and if you believer strong enough, maybe he will talk back and pull you into the loving light once again.
“I have felt your kindness o’er and o’er again
While I called on you when I needed a friend
I have squandered all I’ve been given from above
While you stood on Jordan heart full of love”
