first off I have to say I don’t know how I feel about the accent on this song. I get a huge Irish accent from this song and It just isn’t doing it for me. I been to New Orleans a few times and indulged in Creole food and a small amount of the culture, but I’m not sold on the way the singer delivers this one…
lets get in to the writing of the song.. The melody is once again beautiful and I wonder if my guy WMK is playing the guitar or if he is just writing these masterpieces. The creole culture for me is very important in American History. Diversity, and mixed culture to me is beautiful and I really really think that songs like this should be more common. The most important part of this song though has nothing to do with how its wrote, or how it’s sung, or any of that. The most important part is WMK is able to have a healthy communication relationship with his mother in law. I do know from getting the chance to review his previous songs he grew up in a home with difficulties, so him getting to know his wife mother may of played a distinctive role in his willingness to accept and love, just like If I’m right “Alice” did (the red hair kids aunt)
SHEESH I feel like I’m part of this family now after listening to all these stories…
As I play it one last time I still say I am not a fan of the accent. I wish the singer would of sang it with his real voice..
