William Matthew Kelly – One Hit Wonder

The good ol one hit wonder song. I’ve often wondered how it would feel to be the dreaded one hit wonders. I remember growing up and VH1 running shows that had titles like “top 100 1 hit wonders”. Some would argue being a 1 hit wonder is better than being a no hit wonder. I myself as a musician always felt like I personally wouldn’t mind just having one hit, of course at my age I’d be able to manage my money and possibly make some strong great decisions with the generated funds. BUT there is always that childhood dream of being that mega superstar, being the Elvis, or Chuck Berry and having the whole world love you while breaking barriers and changing the way the world views music, the international superstar oh ya!..
WMK paints a picture of that dream, with the fans screaming out his name, he is someone who wants the fame, and a whole lot of dough , because you know rocking and Rollin is far better than people wondering what happened to you and gossiping about why you could never live up to the one hit. This is in fact a song every musician needs to hear, Not because the first line is super catchy and I almost wish the melody stayed like that, but because there is a reality to dreaming, and the saying is always chase your dreams, but keep in mind this song is full of I DONT WANT TO BE AND I WANT TO BE.. not I am or I’m not… just because your not or you are don’t mean you cant be or wont be… Go chase that star!!!
