William Matthew Kelly – No Means No

As I dive into another song by WMK, I cant help but to think I kind of know this guy, I even gave him my own nickname “WMK” haha…. I sit and think about the importance of the songs I have heard so far. “No Means No” a song that I feel is much needed and I wish it wasn’t. When I listen to this song it makes me think of the golden era of dating, the 40s and 50 when men were kind and respected women like the beautiful caring humans they are. When men opened doors and said Yes Ma’am. When women respected their bodies and themselves. this song takes me back to a time when People waited to have sex and treated love as something more valuable than a feeling.. “I want to hold your hand” in my new age perspective is saying “I want to have sex” and this may not be the writers meaning, but from a perspective of how things are now that’s what it has evolved to. No longer do we date and hold hands which is really sad. I feel like WMK has a knack for being able to resonate with many generations with his music and the way its worded… I let my oldest son who is 19 hear Madison and I asked him “Do you know what this is about” after a discussion I heard him singing it later that night… Brilliant work my friend
