Smokee Whine – Decisions

Today I am reviewing a song by “Smokee Whine“. This song is called Decisions and it’s about the decision you make during your life and the outcomes they have. The first thing I want to say is that the beat is great. I really love the slow slapping bassline and the fun funk that it brings. The beat is a slower beat that gives you New Orleans vibe, very Louisiana with the horns and such.

I am having a hard time hearing the vocals. I feel like they are mixed a tad low, so I am trying to listen carefully and hear the message that is being given. From what I can understand the first verse is talking about Smokee Whines Daughter and how he wants to live for her and do better than what he is or was currently doing.

“All I want to do is live my life for you, I want to rise my kids” for me this is a powerful line with a lot of people who live the street life often leave their kids to grow up alone and figure out how to survive those same streets on their own. When we think about decisions we have to think of the outcomes and what negative and positives they may have on not only us but the people around us.

I wish these vocals was a tad louder so the message was clear, because from what I can understand this is a song that needs to be heard loud and clear.

The delivery of this song is so cool. It has this awesome laid-back throwback Bootsy Collins feel that makes you want to call up the spaceship and take a ride with the parliament. The more I listen the more I am starting to make out “I got so many enemies, the crooked police”. “I just want to live”
What a song. Please add the words to spotify thru your distributor… this could be a great one!
