Scuti – How I’m Feeling

Today I am reviewing the new single from Scuti. All I know about Scuti is he is a young kid out of southside Atlanta. The first thing I want to say is how much I really love this beat. This reminds me of a smooth 1990’s beat that would be great for a hip hop rnb artist.
I won’t lie when I first heard it the old head came out in me, and I instantly thought “this is another melody style rap that is a clone of everything else you hear these days”. I then realized this is a younger guy and this is his age group. This is the music that caters to his generation, and I have no right to speak negatively on his art or his creativity. Do I feel like he mumbles and has a lazy delivery or words, YES, but when it comes to rap these days, that shit is hot, and the kids love it and understand it. It is no different than when my parents said “We don’t understand a word that snoop dogg guy is saying”
In all reality I am having a hard time deciphering some of the song just based on the draw of his accent, but the melody isn’t bad, I really liked it when it slows down and isn’t forced to fit on beat. there are several parts that is sped up that I feel don’t really fit correctly
The flow is catchy, and I could see how this could be a song that is easy to relax to and chill, vibe, just marinate and have a drink to. I appreciate it more that the artist is a younger guy, because there could be so much wrong, he could be doing, but instead at this instance he took the time to sit down, write a song, record a song, upload a song, and push a song. Respect.
I’m not 100% sure what this song is actually about, I feel like it’s about several different topics from fake friends to fake love, a few lines I caught were about his girl not being a real one and he is so sick of her and her lies. The more I play this song over and over the more I start to think it’s a stress reliever. Scuti sat down and spoke his mind, just like the song says, he told you How he is feeling. After several spins I determined this is a pretty solid track, it’s not my style but I bet his age group is banging this one heavy!
