Tookey – Blowin Pass

The Homie Chris Doss reached out and asked me to review a song he produced for recording artist Tookey.  As soon as I started playing the song I could hear a melodic Rhythm. It was almost evil. That piano just dying for a 808 to come in and destroy my subs. I immediately turned down my volume in anticipation for the upcoming explosion I was imagining happening any second. I WAS NOT WRONG, as soon as the last beat came around BOOM is dropped like a man jumping off a building. The great thing about this beat is it’s not so crowded that the vocals get drowned out, the piano and the other instruments are perfectly mixed to accommodate Tookey’s lyrics.
The build up of the beat is perfect. starts off slow and as soon as the chorus starts it’s in your face blowing your rearview off the windshield. when the verse starts there is a slight breakdown that really lets you slide into the beat like Rickey Henderson stealing a base and all at once it comes back in again and allows the rapper to really pick up their delivery . When a producer is able to have drops and breakdowns it does nothing but enhances the rappers energy. A lot of these beats these days are basic 8 bar hooks and 16 bar verse loops, which doesn’t allow the rapper to have that high octane fuel when you have a dope break right before your dopest bar and you know your about to go Jeffery Dahmer on the comeback and just eat the beat up.
Chris Doss is a hell of a producer, I really enjoy this beat and the hype it brings to the song. This song will go in the streets, in the clubs, or just in the earbuds at work.  Fire ass production on this one
