Do OG’s exist anymore?

Do OG’s even exist anymore.?

Today I was talking with my homies about our community and how it was when we were kids compared to now days. I was speaking with D Boone from the rap Group LowKlass Lingos, and to Skinny the Bad yella. We spoke about how the youth is doing what they want compared to how when I myself was a kid, doing what was sort of managed by “The Og’s”
Where did the OG’s go ? In the 80’s the Ogs were our parents, our uncles, our cousins, and our friends , today they are dead, or in prison, or drugged out. D Boone told me growing up in Florida, the OG’s would never allow Fake pills, or any sort of bullshit dope dealing, that was a violation. When I was growing up in Salinas, I remember the drug trade was heavily managed by the Biker gangs, and the Mexican gangs. Drug dealing was never just a solo venture like it is now. There was no “I’m going to sell dope” You had to be part of a gang, part of a organization, you had to be connected. Today is completely different . Talking to my homeboy Skinny who is a few years younger than me , possibly 10 years younger told me that “OG’s have gave up, the young kids don’t listen no more” he said “It’s impossible” I really ask my self what it’s like in 2020 to be a gangster, to be a dope dealer? Is there a guideline? do you say “Hey I’m not gonna sell heroine” or is it “I’ma get every dollar I can”
is there a consciousness thought that you’re not going to poison your community, or is it “I’ma get every dollar I can ”
with the statement my homeboy made “THERE ARE NO MORE OG’s” how can we change that? Boone told me he would love to have a hand in a big brother program, what can we do to change the culture?
I am the culture, I was born in 1981, I lived through the meth game, the crack game, I got lucky and won, How can I help the kids win?
how can I be a OG? I need ideas, because at 38 helping others is my main agenda…..
